Media strategy, newsroom transformation, and AI in journalism.
Working at the intersection of editorial judgment, technology, and organisational change. Based in UK.

I work with news organisations on newsroom transformation and AI, focusing on how editorial judgment and journalism’s civic role shape systems, workflows, and organisational decisions.

I’ll use this space to think aloud, share observations from practice, and occasionally link to longer pieces.

A lot of newsroom AI projects struggle not because of the models, but because of where ownership sits. In journalism, AI is an editorial problem that requires engineering capability — not the other way round. More detailed thinking here:

Editorial must own AI implementation with engineering support
Editorial applications require AI to function as a language tool, processing and transforming content journalists provide rather than generating knowledge from its own training.
