5 yrs ago today, just after 10pm, we evac'd due to fire raging just across the street. We drove away in darkness and smoke, with the wall of fire as a point of reference for direction. So different this year! #grateful4rain

25 yrs ago USS Cole was struck by terrorists. We lost 17 Sailors that day. I was alongside as we tended to wounded, removed lost & prepped her for home. Not sea worthy, she was carried home. She's whole again & stationed in Norfolk, but my heart still aches. To USS Cole, DDG 67. Long may she sail.
