Fear of retribution. Even before all of this nonsense. I took a business 100 course in 2017. The teacher pointed out it is legal to fire someone because of their political beliefs. Now you can get arrested for disagreeing with the powers that be.

There are people who are good people in every party but I am talking about the ones who are not necessarily MAGA but are so embedded in their beliefs that they feel compelled to vote for someone they don't agree but the other side is way worse.

In Afghanistan we were told we are there to win hearts and minds. Same line they used in Vietnam. The problem is people have to want to change but the average person is terrified of that. Blunt truth is the hardest thing to hear and believe.
