And to be clear, I'm not condoning the layoffs. Pete Parson should [redacted.] This community irregularity existed with Bungie pretty much from the start of Destiny and it never faded, and it's always pissed me off.

But for Bungie, every sin is a mountain, and every triumph is a molehill.

Deliver a fantastic ending to a decade long story? No biggie. Put too much stuff in the cash shop instead of obtainable? Trash game, trash company, people quit in droves.

It makes no sense.

And see, that's what I mean.

I'm not saying they're faultless - everybody agrees the DCV was awful and never should have been done - but I got 2.5k hours of great fun out of Destiny. This "mismanagement" is peanuts compared to other game controversies.

It *should* blow it away, but public perception towards Bungie has been poisoned for so long for very few good reasons that I honestly don't see it happening.

It's like there's something magic where Bungie just can never do any right and can only do wrong in people's eyes. It's insane to see.

I don't know if it's breaking NDA to say this, but I'll just say I had a very good time with it, and my experience with Arc Raiders really, really just made me want to go back to playing Marathon.

like they're "not good enough" when the quality of the individual has extremely little to do with social ability. The only 'quality' that matters is the willingness to put yourself out there, everything else is just your own personal flavoring

the absolute worst people you can imagine have a support system and friends and family and a spouse and kids. your quality as a person does not matter one single iota, and pretending it does only makes people who didnt get lucky feel- (1/2)
