Cadence of Hyrule was such a fantastic idea, giving the IP to some beloved indie developers who have proven they have the chops to make something unique with it. Then they just... Never did it again.

That's the thing about Dark Souls 1. Despite literally being the go to example of a brutally hard ball busting game, the first one kinda isn't.

There are certainly hard PARTS, but lots of games have huge difficulty curves. The game as a whole isn't bad if you know what you're doing.

A Chubby British man pulled this off in 2006 on Windows Movie Maker and created an entire genre that briefly took over the entire internet. AI is not needed to do this.

Power through it. Justice For All contains the single worst case in the franchise followed immediately by the best.

Thankfully the script kiddy decided to deliver an ultimatum before actually doing much and I disconnected the computer from the internet immediately (physically pulled the cord out) and wiped the drive before it got into anything, but I had to go dispute a bunch of google play microtransactions.

This is a common scam among game development discords. People who post on those regularly get plenty of legitimate "I need help with this game" DMs out of the blue and quite a few people have had their accounts stolen.

I have screenshots of their email exchange so you can see what sort of lines they took to get the bot to cooperate, no idea if it's still gonna be the same way, this was a while ago (before the AI-slop era) but it might still help? They got theirs back in about a week.

A friend of mine had the exact same scam happen to them. They emailed [email protected] and dealt with what was probably a chatbot, but they disabled the account right away and got access back after providing a Nitro receipt as proof.
