I don't even really see them as "switches" in the *strictest* sense. It's more like "well, who gets to lie back and who wants to spoil the other." I don't think either of them would think of themselves as "switches" to be quite honest!

I worded this carefully on my site:

in the one digimuyo daiken thing I haven't finished, I still am rewriting the warning page to make sure everyone knows it goes kendai->daiken->pattycake who wins->kendai->daiken, which I'm sure will just make a buncha people mad at me lmaooooo

I think it's very obvious IMO when someone tags a ship wrong by accident or on purpose to get more views.

I always am very sensitive to this sort of thing, so I try to be hyper-vigilant and wordy when it comes to daiken vs kendai lol

idk, I've become less patient over the years with people policing ships or even trying to make shipping discourse again and again and it's never stopped from the 90s, by god.

tagging is definitely important though, it's a core function of fandom works.

"I can tell what kind of boring people like this or this flavor" I can also tell your mother failed in putting the fear of god in you but you don't see me pointing out your weakness so you crash out from being treated like the child you are

"no, this flavor is better!" okay, cool, do you, other people like other flavors instead.

"why do you like this flavor, you didn't understand the source material!" brother, there are fujos that have made gold of random rare or crack ships, why does it bother you

and so on.

however, people having specific tastes for specific ships has never bothered me. e.g. I know obviously daiken is the preferred flavor, even tho' I like both daiken and kendai. (I actually want to make more kendai...)

only time it bothers me is when both sides start being idiots.
