Out of boredom I just checked how much it would cost to travel to London with the train from Berlin over the Easter break -> €323 return trip for 3 people inc. seat reservations. I am very very tempted.

What a weird emergency notice. Thought there was a new power outage, but apparently it's just that the electricity is coming back (to the region which suffered an outage).

As for 2026 - we hope to break the 10k km barrier, a bit gutted that we didn't manage to do it this year. We also want to take at least 2 night trains, something the kids have been begging me to do. On that note - we hope you all have a great start into the new year! 10/10

So we traveled to a few new places that we hadn't been to before. Magdeburg probably tops the list. Pleasantly surprised by the city - which I've heard a few negative things about. Will def. Revisit again next year. 8/10

Another first this year was traveling to Copenhagen. The route has lot of negative reviews (which in can confirm) but with new trains in operation from 2026 it should be far more enjoyable. Traveling over the Great Belt Bridge was quite nice though. (2nd pic was the "dining car") 7/10

As predicted last year - we visited Poland a few times. Their Regional trains were quite "vintage" but good fun. This list only tracks cities visited by train - but we did visit a fair few more places by bike and bus. 6/10
