In 1862, a copy of Robert E. Lee’s Special Order 191 (Troop movement orders) was found by Union troops. It was then passed to General McClellan, who used the information to absolutely fucking destroy Lee at the Battle of Antietam. Just a fun historical fact apropos of nothing 👀
