A little Valentine's throwback to the distant year of 2022!
Quackers comic 02-09-22 Panel 1: Several images of Jason looking unhappy capture the mood of a narration box that reads: "When I'm feeling sad, when I'm feeling down, I know I can rely on you." Pokémon 104: Cubone

If you go walking around any mountainous terrain, keep an eye out around any caves as you might just stumble upon a cubone! This little pokémon leads an isolated life, and while they may look cute they know how to fend off intruders and predators with the large bone they carry!

A stand-alone version of the gross close-up from the third panel of this week’s comic. I had fun drawing and rendering this one, so thought I’d share a larger version so you can all appreciate the icky details!
Jason the duck from the Quackers webcomic. It is a close up of him lying in bed suffering from a heavy cold/flu. His feathers are ruffled, his eyes half-open and horribly bloodshot. Sleep crust adorns his lower eyelids, his beak is pallid and mottled. His mouth hangs open limply, some drool forms at the corner of his cracked mouth. He looks almost zombie-like. The image is rendered in a more detailed and painterly style than the usual cell-shaded look of the comic.

Quackers comic 02-11-26 Panel 1: Tom enters the bedroom and softly calls out “Hey, Buddy,” towards the lump under the sheets on the bed. “You feeling any better? Think you’re ready to get up and eat something?” “No!” comes Jason’s croaky voice from under the bedsheets. “No one can see meh like dis!” Panel 2: “Dis cold has med meh all ugly lookin’,” continues Jason from under cover. Time sits on the bed and turns to where he assumes Jason’s head to be. “Now that’s not true,” he says. He reaches for the covers. “C’mon, let’s see that happy, smiling-“ Panel 3: Tom cuts himself off with an uncontrolled cry of “Nyaa!” as he sees what’s under the covers. We see Jason in disgusting close up, feathers a mess, eyes bloodshot with sleep crust covering them. His beak is running, mouth hanging open slackly with drool dripping out of the corner of his cracked lips. His colour is desaturated and he looks half dead. Panel 4: “See? You’re looking… umm…radiant!” says Tom, trying his best not to show his revulsion. “Really?” asks Jason, weakly before sniffing loudly and coughing. Tom gently pats Jason’s head, his arm at full stretch as he tries not to get too near. “Oh yes,” he says. “Positively radioactive.”

A day of nothing going right, and having to get fuzz-butt to the vet after his face swelled up. He needs some teeth removed (as we guessed), but apparently he has a bad heart. Chance he might not make it through the dental procedure when he next goes in ☹

Quackers comic 02-04-26 Panel 1: Tom the moose and Jason the duck are sat on the couch. Jason sneezes with a little “hi-choo!” noise. “Bless you,” says Tom. Panel 2: Jason gasps, his hands on his head in dismay. “Oh no!” “Oh no, what?” asks Tom. “That sneeze! It’s a sign in being stalled by a cold!” Jason replies. Panel 3: “Tom, you have to hide me!” Cries Jason in a panic, grabbing Tom by the shoulder. “Place me in witness protection, post me to Atlantis, anything! Just don’t let it find me!” Tom leans away a little unnerved. “I’m not sure that’s how colds work,” he says. Panel 4: Out of nowhere Jason is struck by something unseen with a loud ‘Whap!’ He goes flying off the edge of the couch as Tom leans back in surprise. Panel 5: “Jason!” exclaims Tom, looking over the arm of the couch where Jason fell. “What happened?!” Panel 6: Tom backs away as a disheveled figure crawls over the arm of the chair. Jason splays himself across the armrest, feathers askew, eyes bloodshot and running. He reached out an unsteady hand toward Tom. “Da cold, it ghod meh!” he says. Tom recoils in disgust with an “Eugh!” as Jason makes a loud and rather unpleasant sniffing noise.

Deep In The Dark.
Quackers comic 01-28-26 Panel 1: Jason the duck is walking in the dark, his eyes squinting And with one hand held before him, the other feeling the nearby wall. Narration is captioned over the scene: “Bravely out hero inches his way down the dark, foreboding, crypt-like halls. His eyes struggle to adapt to the suffocating darkness.” Panel 2: [Narration]: “Or hero’s ears catch the unnerving sounds of some creature lurking in the depths!” Jason’s eyes dart about and he crimes in fear as we hear a ‘Rrrr… Hoooork… Rrrr’ sound from somewhere around where Jason stands. [Narration]: “What manner of terrifying abomination could possibly be spilling around in the darkness?” Panel 3: [Narration]: “Before he can even reach our hero is felled!” Jason falls dramatically, giving out one solitary cry of “ACK!” as he grumbles to the floor. Panel 4: We see the now lit hallway of The house. Tom is standing in the bedroom doorway rubbing his eyes sleepily. “What’s going on out here?” he asks. Further down the hall Jason lays in a heap on the floor, dazed. His foot is caught over Scruffy, their pet dinosaur who looks up at Jason drowsily. [Narration]: “Or hero’s quest for a stealthy midnight bathroom break is at an end. Like many before him he has fallen prey to the immobile slumbering beast of the catacombs.”

The Picture Of Health.
Quackers comic 01-21-26 Panel 1: Jason the duck I’d sat on the couch holding some physical photographs. Tom the moose approaches from the side. Drinking from his mug he asks, “What’re you up to?” “Oh, I found these old photos and I was thinking about how I’ve changed since we started going to the gym.” Jason replies Panel 2: “Back then I looked so flabby weak and scrawny!” continues the duck. Tom gives him a sidelong glance. Panel 3: “Nothing at all like the prime specimen of fitness and athleticism that stands before you today!” boasts Jason, striking a pose showing off absolutely no musculature whatsoever. Tom tools his head in bafflement as he stares at Jason’s posing. Panel 4: Tom gestures towards Jason with his mug. “The most athleticism you’ve ever shown was that time you sprinted outside to catch up to the ice-cream van.” “I set a new speed record that day!” says Jason proudly.

Cold Weather Warnings.
Quackers comic 01-07-26 Panel 1: Jason the duck is stood on a snowy precipice, staring upwards in shock as a large dark shadow looms over him. Rumbling can be heard. Panel 2: From a side view of the snowy mountainside we see Jason is about to be engulfed by an avalanche! Panel 3: Citing to a different scene, Tom the moose is leaning over a cliff side, arm outstretched towards Jason who is plummeting down the ravine! Panel 4: Yet another scene change and now Jason is encased on a solid block of ice, with crosses over his eyes. Tom is knelt by the ice block and crying over his frozen friend. A disjointed voice says “I know we’ve had a little bit of snow this week…” Panel 5: We cut to the living room, Jason snuggled up on the couch in a blanket playing video games. Tom stands next to him holding a leash and Scruffy, his pet dinosaur is by his feet. Tom continues talking “… But o really don’t think any of that will happen if you join me and Scruffy for a walk around the park.” Jason, focussing on his video game replies “Better safe than sorry.”

Is It Over- Or Under-Cooked?
Quackers comic 01-07-26 Panel 1: Tom walks into the dining room from the kitchen holding a pan in one hoof and a casserole bowl in the other. Worth a happy expression he announces “Pasta’s ray!” in a song-songs voice. Panel 2: Tom puts out the blackened contents of the pan onto an awaiting plate. The singed pasta clatters and bounces around and off the plate and all over the table. Jason, sat in front of the plate looks on aghast. Panel 3: Holding a smouldering piece of pasta, Jason comments “It seems a little, umm… dry.” Indignantly Tom replies. “I followed the packet instructions exactly! ‘Boil water; cook pasta for twelve minutes’.” Panel 4: “Did you cook the pasta in the boiling water?” asks Jason. “Y’know, I did wonder what the water was for at the time…” replies Tom, looking down at the suspiciously dry pan the pasta was in.

A New Year's Nap.

Happy New Year, everyone!
Quackers comic: 12-31-25 Panel 1: Jason the walks into the living room. He's wearing a striped green party hat, and a gold novelty necklace shaped into the number 2026. "Alright," he says as he opens the door and enters. "I've finished my nap and I'm ready and raring to party!" Panel 2: Throwing his arms in the air Jason shouts out "Let's get this party going and ring in 2026 in style! WOOOOOO!" Panel 3: We cut back to see that the living room is in a post-party state. A torn "Happy New Year" banner hangs limply on the wall and a few balloons line the ceiling. Snacks litter the coffee table which Tom the moose is knelt before. Tom looks up bemused by Jason's entrance, stopping in the middle of putting the rubbish into a black bag. Jason looks back, equally surprised. Panel 4: "Jason," begins Tom, looking at his phone for the time. "It's 1:15am, everyone's gone home. You slept through the whole party." Panel 5: Jason looks forlorn and holds his party hat in his hands. "Awww..." he mournfully utters. Tom places a reassuring hoof on Jason's shoulder. "Maybe next year, Champ," he says with a slight smile.

Quackers comic 12-24-25 A one panel comic depicting the Quackers cast having a Christmas meal together. To the left Sam the tiger is wearing a blue Christmas jumper with a Christmas tree on it and is holding his plate in his hand while laughing happily. Another week, another Quackers role playing picture. Today it’s Toby as his Warrior character. Those familiar with the characters from the comic will notice I’m reworking their costumes for these. Toby here is in far more elaborate armour than the simple breast plate he’s normally depicted wearing.
