This bill has not followed due process and there are concerns over its governance. This legislation has been rushed through the initial stages, has ignored consultation and has removed key principles from our current national environmental legislation.

If bat conservation needs a ‘poster bat’ then surely the undeniably cute Brown long-eared bat fits the bill. Look out for the seemingly apprehensive Brown long-eared bat looking around before retreating into the box

Bat hibernation season went out with a bang 4 me with hibernating Greater horseshoe bats in Sussex. A scarce bat in this part of the world. However, the work of Vincent Wildlife Trust, Sussex Bat Group, and volunteers is bringing them back. @batconservation.bsky.social

This Natterer's bat, with some personal grooming to take care of, was wide awake on a recent hibernation survey. It was already active when found and seemed unconcerned by its admirers, who left it as they found it. @batconservation.bsky.social
