It didn't _ease the tension_, but that's not why I brought it up. If he reacted to Becca (which may be why he took his gun out when he did) then he definitely wasn't in fear for his life from the vehicle. He was unable to control his anger about comments from an entirely different person.

This dude probably has PTSD from Iraq, more PTSD from his car dragging incident in June, and Good's and her partner's demeanor triggered him...which is why (as Adam points out) he steps forward to engage as he rounds the car - where she may not have even seen him. He is unfit to be out there.

Based on other posts, the woman following the murderer seems to be Good's partner. That's why she says, "We don't change our plates every day like you do. It will be the same one the next time you come out here." I think his "Fucking bitch!" was directed at the partner.

Her head was entirely turned to focus on the other agent telling her to "get out of the fucking car" who then proceeds to start wrestling with her door handle. She never saw him come back to the front with the other protester. She was already turning the wheel to pull away from the other agent.
