The people want the right to die and the Commons have supported the bill so any attempts by the Lords to deliberately run down the clock would be illegitimate.

The people want the right to die and the Commons have supported the bill so any attempts by the Lords to deliberately run down the clock would be illegitimate.
Thanks to John Slinger MP for giving the Government the opportunity to clarify this: it can remain neutral on the principle of the Bill, but not on the parliamentary process which must respect the primacy of the Commons.
