Russia won't become a puppet state of China unless they break apart. They won't allow Chinese ownership or control or honor any agreements that allow that. Russia will be dependent on China economicly like North Korea is. China needs the cheap resource flow too and can't invade a huge nuclear power.

They still allowed the tariffs to remain in place until mid Oct for the Supreme Court. Given it was 7-4 and not 11-0 and the make up of the SC I wouldn't get too excited yet. Also, the damage is already done and things won't just go back to normal right away if they are lifted.

Nuclear war with who? I don't support attacking Iran without a reason but they aren't a nuclear power. Even if they built a bomb and a means to deliver it that would be suicide for them. There are lots of bad things that could result from this but a nuclear exchange isn't one of them.

This happens with any shortage. You have eggs and every grocery store is trying to get them and bid up the prices. As a producer your costs don't go up very much if at all but you just can't produce as much. When you can prices drop slower than they went up.

I armed myself and am shooting regularly. Complete financial collapse, war, dictatorship, everything is possible right now. I hope I never need it but there aren't any limits to what I'd do to protect my family or democracy if it comes to that. Sane people should do the same.

He is not Venezuelan either, he is Salvadorian. They claimed this was Venezuelan gang members only. He had a court order to prevent his deportation. This is the US and they are paying El Salvador to keep him in prison there and they somehow can't get him back? Bullshit. This is pure evil.

A lack of data is no longer a limiting factor for AI progression. It can now reason, generate its own (synthetic) data, use reinforcement learning, etc. AGI is already here, and when ASI is achieved, people will no longer be required to improve it.

No it won't. When companies can be entirely run by AI the big AI providers will just shut off access to their systems and spin up their own competitors to these businesses and put them out of business. In the meantime you are giving them your data to do that.

Dictatorships are inherently expansionist. Calling Canada the 51st state is the same as Putin calling Ukrainians Russians. Trump doesn't care about Canada, he just seems it as more power and wealth.

Social security taxes go into the social security trust fund to pay retirees. It doesn't impact the deficit or budget. How is that supposed to pay for tax cuts or anything else?
