The extra-extreme members of the House Budget Committee voted "present" tonight so that the Medicaid-cuts-to-fund-tax-giveaways-for-the-rich bill could pass out of committee 17-16.

Tomorrow, flood Capitol Hill switchboards to voice your opposition to this monstrosity.

"So Trump will impose these tariffs and sit back and wait for other world leaders to petition the king with their offerings that will ultimately expand his own power, all the while we are the collateral damage. We all get thrown under the bus; 350 million people suffer so that one man can benefit."

I was at the SEIU1199 Headquarters in Manhattan at the meeting to advocate against the Medicaid costs that Elon Musk and Donald Trump want. I took a photo with Congressman Hakeem Jeffries and with the President and CEO of Montefiore Systems, Dr. Phil Ozuah.
We are fired up to fight these cuts!

They cut $880B from Medicaid, $400B from SNAP (food stamps, meals on wheels), $300B from veterans benefits, cut off cancer and Alzheimer's research, and cut off food for 8 million famished children in Africa all so they could give the ultra wealthy, the 1%, another $4trillion dollar tax cut!

Celebrating Valentine's Day courtesy of Council Member Salamanca at the Bronx Zoo.

I got a photo with the Council Member and also with his wife, Bronx Parks Commissioner, Jessenia Aponte.

I had a very happy moment with them.

Thank you, Council Member!

For too long, NY government has been sclerotic, scandal-plagued, and systemically broken. It’s time to return power to the people — and make government more ethical, efficient, and effective. This is an indictment of the status quo. I hope you’ll take a look:
