I wrote a blog post on Vector databases, and how they work under the hood.

Let's say trying to build a RAG using a Danish language documents, but most of the models I use are in English. Is there a way to build upon existing models, and create better embeddings.

Would general fine tuning of my model be enough?

I think embeddings are going to be game change for Data Engineers! Do you agree?

The way we can interact with raw text using embeddings, is super promising. I’ve written a small introduction to them here: dilovan.substack.com/p/teaching-a...

Can I change prettier in #Neovim so I can have 120 character lines instead of 80 characters?

Will a moustache make me a better developer, I use #Neovim btw

Day 05 #AdventOfCode done and still having loads of fun.
I first tried using some fancy data structures.

But realised I was over engineering it, so instead I built some functionality to sort each line, with #rusts sort_by.

Only 23% of people are good at math, so it’s really important that we look out for the other 87%.

I've completed "Ceres Search" - Day 4 - Advent of Code 2024 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2024/day/4

Today used recursion for part 1, and for part 2 I compared the result of the diagonal cells to a pre approved list. I can't decide if it's smart, or dumb.

This was my tenth(!) year building 25 days of puzzles for #AdventOfCode. You can solve them all for free! Most people write code to solve them, but you can solve them however you like. I hope they help people become better programmers. 🌟

The first puzzle comes out in two hours: adventofcode.com

Any cool solutions for Day03 #AdventOfCode? For part 2 I set a flag and turn it on and off as I se do and don't.

Is WebAssembly the new JVM? I've been working with WebAssembly lately, and I love it. But I feel like the promise of WebAssembly on the server sounds a lot like Write Once, Run Anywhere 😂

Working on QuackHouse, I've gained a great appreciation for Columnstore databases, and decided to write a post on substack regarding it. I hope you'll like it

Column Store Databases are awesome!
Except when they are not. I'll try explain some the underlying concepts, so you can use them better, and sound really cool with your friends and coworkers.

I’ve done and update to my privacy focused analytics tool. It now has a database explorer and autocompletion for your files. As before data never leaves your computer.

I've decided to built an analytics platform which runs 100% locally using WebAssembly, and that I will write about the journey. Here is the first blog post: substack.com/home/post/p-...
