Johnson is decent for a team who lets face it have been in midtable form over 18 months. If you want to challenge for a league or CL he's not it. And I would bin a bunch of the rest as well but he's in charge of his own squad management. there isn't a player in midfield or up top who should be safe

Can I be honest for a second? Not sure we should sack him butt there's been significant issues in the league for 18 months win or lose. We're getting knocked out of the league cup regardless. we're 9th in the EL table. just because we have cups to play for doesn't mean we're in great shape there.

The problem with going "oh its injuries and fatigue" is that we started the season off horrifically as well

some of the squad who you would want to replace are players he signed in johnson and dragusin as well. and not cheaply either.

did he do it today? The thing with Johnson is that if all you bring is end product it needs to be consistent and more varied than what he brings. the numbers look good but do you think anyone who plays us is scared of him or has to do planning for him?

This is an acceptable position with the caveat that it isn't just injuries and fatigue but that there are players in the squad who aren't of the level we need.

If G/A was all football was we'd watch fbref not matches. Elangas ball progression is better, he runs the channels, he gets the ball and takes initiative. and he cost 1/5 of what Johnson did.

I think we put pressure on defenders because we aren't secure on the ball up the pitch so it goes up and immediately comes back. Games are frenetic because we can only create in transition (press). Bringing back romero/vdv is changing deck chairs on the Titanic. If we concede 4 not 6 we still lose.

I mean they're much better than us, I don't we win that game with any lineup.

In the last monthonce a midfielder has had to play 90 mins in 2 successive games. Sarr against Saints and Utd. The first of which was a training exercise.

At the back and Solanke yes. the midfield has been rotated consistently and was horrendous. There's significant squad quality issues that don't get fixed if we had magically been all fit for this game.

Think this is the crux of Tottenham's issue and that the signing of children is a red herring. For the last 2-3 years we've leaned into signing players who fit a more athletic profile for the press while eschewing on ball ability. No plan B is really not being able to play other than pressing.

are they hiding or are they not of the level. look at the teams we compete for players with. Brentford, Bournemouth. We didn't beat Barca to Bergvall we beat Barca B. It is what it is, Ange isn't perfect but its not going to change until the transfer ethos changes.

The gaslighting from within is what gets me. We have players who are barely midtable quality who get talked up like stars. Genuinely which team looked better on the ball tonight us or them? And how many seats is their fucking stadium?

Think across the PL the quality of coaching is so high. So if you want to do something (challenge or get top 4) we're back to a place where the edge is in player quality. We have first 11 players who should be on the bench and bench players who shouldn't be in the squad. And that's when fully fit.
