Not really, just anti-West tankies.

About 30 million km or 20 million miles.

A nice clear sky helped me photograph comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) on 1 October 2025. The ion tail is becoming brighter and full of streamers and the dust tail grows. #cometWatch #astrophotography
A comet with a tail among the stars. The green gasy coma is about 10 arcminutes across. The ion tail extends beyond the edge of the frame.

Equipment: GSO N203/800 with TS GPU cc, AZ-EQ5, unmodified Olympus E-PL5.

Exposure: 100x30s, from B4 skies of eastern Crete.

Edited with DSS, SIRIL and GIMP.

Comet C/2025 R2 (SWAN) finally cleared the twilight zone from southern Europe (and the clear atmosphere certainly helped despite the presence of some clouds). Coma is about 6' and the ion tail is visible too in this 10min exposure. #cometWatch
Image of a comet among the stars. Image is stacked on comet so the stars appear as lines. The comet has an green coma and a faint ion tail. Equipment: TS Optics 70mm f/6 ED with 0.8 reducer and unmodified Olympus E-PL5. 55x10s and 16x4s (total exposure is about 10 minutes). Location: Eastern Crete, near Toplou Monastery. Stacked with DSS and SIRIL. Image is cropped.

Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) today. Coma is 8' across, smaller than a few days before, but dust tail is becoming more prominent. Also brightenening seems to have stalled, yet the nucleus and coma look good. I'll keep an eye on it. 🧐 #cometWatch #astronomy
Image of comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) stacked on the comet, leading to trals appear as trails. Bright green coma, dust tail and a thin and dimmer ion tail is also visible up to the edge of the frame. Equipment: GSO N203/800 with TS GPU cc, AZEQ5, unmodified Olympus E-PL5. 106x30s ISO 1600 frames, from B4 skies of Eastern Crete. Edited with DSS and SIRIL.

It isn't an easy target (yet) - a small smudge 5' arcmin across and mag 7.5, about as easy to see as M53 or the Whirlpool Galaxy. Easy to miss with a pair of 8x50 binoculars.

The 3rd naked eye nova this year and all of them in the southern skies.

Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) looked gorgegous on the early hours of September 24, as the ion tail became again quite prominent. #cometWatch #astrophotography #comet #space
Comet stack of comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) - the comet is static while the stars appear as trails. The ion tail appears to be bifurcate and there is also a faint dust tail. Photo taked with a GSO N203/800 telescope and an unmodifed Olympus E-PL5 camera. 103x30s frames. Edited with DSS and SIRIL.

No, the brighter one is just below the naked eye visibily threshold under prestine skies. Maybe it will brighten a bit more in October.

Periodic comet 240P/NEAT on 23 September 2025. Much brighter than initial predictions, it features a dust tail which up to its faintest extremities is 25 arcminutes long. Currently slowing down as it enters retrograde motion. #cometWatch #astrophotography #astronomy
A small dusty comet (240P?NEAT) and a few stars. 23 September 2025, 2:15 UTC. GSO N203/800 telescope with coma corrector, unmodified Olympus E-PL5. 46x30s from eastern Crete, B4.5. Edited with DSS and SIRIL.

Lovely image of two comets one next to the other from the southern hemisphere. Mars was also nearby. #cometWatch

Reunion Island - 20 septembre 2025.

An absolute roller-coaster of emotions, the BRRISON mission (that ended in failure) and that iconic SOHO montage that could be an album cover. IMHO the most memorable comet of the century so far.

More like it falls within the "it wasn't true communism" gender of excuses for why a communist state failed.
dimkate.bsky.social
Did the comet have an small outburst? Looks like it gained 0.5 mag in a day.
dimkate.bsky.social
Coma is less than one arcminute across, estimated mag about 14.5.

Something different today. Comet 414P/STEREO is in the constellation of Leo, not far from Regulus and Venus, at an elogation of 29°. Perihelion is on 26/9. Small green coma, maybe a fain tail. #CometWatch
A small fuzzy dot among star trails. GSO N203/800 telescope with TS GPU coma corrector. Unmodified Olympus E-PL5 camera. 45x30s, from when the comet was 10 degrees above the horizon and up to into the nautical twilight. Edited with DSS and SIRIL.

The Rafales will replace the Mirages. Anyway it considers selling 18 of them.
dimkate.bsky.social
And if I'm not wrong Greece will phase out many of its Mirage 2000. It could fire sell them to Ukraine to make some profit instead of letting them rust.

Seems like everyone is trying to screw or just take advantage of those who produce intellectual property. Clippy should be everywhere. 📎

Did they just change their terms of use without asking?

* short dust tail, not ion!

Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) in the early hours of 16 September. Coma has grown to about 6-7 arcminutes, there is a faint ion tail about 20 arcminutes long and possibly a short ion tail has started growing. #cometWatch #astrophotography
Image of comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) moving among the stars. The comet features a bright green coma and a very faint ion tail. Equipment used: GSO N203/800 with TS GPU cc, unmodified Olympus E-PL5. 95x30s ISO 1600 light frames. Stacked with DSS and edited with SIRIL.

The tail reaching up to the edge of the frame 😮
