Repulsion (1965). The number of ways in which this made me uncomfortable can only be rivaled by Lynch's Eraserhead. I guess this is what a lot of women must be feeling all the time.

Finished listening to The Hobbit audiobook. Andy Serkis should be declared a British national treasure

Her (2013). This rewatch was more enjoyable than the first time. The film is more honest and sincere than I initially gave it credit for, and I hope Spike was able to achieve closure by making it - the final scene definitely feels like closure and a leap toward personal growth.

Les Diaboliques (1955, dir. Henri-Georges Clouzot). I can absolutely see why Hitchcock loved this movie so much. A brilliant thriller and a true classic. It helps if you go into this one as blind as possible, the plot twists are a thing of beauty.

The Hunger (1983). Tony Scott's debut film has David Bowie and Catherine Deneuve as sexy vampires, Susan Sarandon as a perky biologist, cool makeup effects and a live Bauhaus performance. What it doesn't have is a compelling story, but the atmosphere makes up for it.

On painkillers + started physiotherapy for the pinched nerve on my back. Please don't be like me: take care of your health, get enough exercise, take breaks when you work on the computer, make sure you have good posture. Back problems are easier (and cheaper) to prevent than to treat.

Watched all 4 Wes Anderson shorts based on Roald Dahl stories. Definitely an interesting experiment: they were more like visual audiobooks than actual movies but I enjoyed them. My ranking would be: 1. The Swan. 2. The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar. 3. Poison. 4. The Rat Catcher.
