He points out the subtleties of each character - sharp corners versus curves, when to let the pen glide off the page to create a tapered line, and where strokes are connected by motion of the hand. He sometimes shows the og kanji that the hiragana character is based on to show how it developed.

This is pretty good! Reminds me of when I first started learning.

If you wanna learn more about the penmanship, I highly recommend this vid. It totally changed the way I approach hiragana. It’s narrated in Japanese but the ideas come across clearly.
