Since the only "American People" they serve are supporters of the dear leader, it's not a lie. They just think 60% of the country doesn't count as people.

To be fair, he probably didn't hear about it.

Whenever someone refers to "western civilization" in contexts such as these, I find it helpful to use the decoded version of that term: "white power". It makes it much more clear who they're talking to and what they really mean.

It was never about character.

It was always about power.

What's the 1981 moment? Reagan getting shot? The Pope getting shot? The IBM PC being released? Do his weird white nationalist trolls know what that refers to?

In 1987, I *won* an Apple IIc computer from Apple, along with an Apple color monitor, and was surprised to learn that the entire retail value of that system made its way to me on a 1099 form the following year. I think it was close to $2000. I had to pay taxes on every penny.

As much as I love this effort and result, I wonder if I’m the only one who doesn’t long for the return of CRTs?

I’d love to see a project to retrofit an LCD screen into a retro- CRT housing for an old system rehab.

My actual IRL interactions as an EV owner are more curiosity-oriented, rather than being skeptical. Most people genuinely want to know what my experiences have been, and aren't looking to poke holes in my reality with edge cases from their fantasies.

Online is a different story.

The Stonewall monument (managed by NPS) removed all reference to trans people from the monument and related information online. To me, that "fails to emphasize the beauty" of honest, unvarnished history. Maybe we should all submit a comment.

Last year, I bought an EV, installed solar, and did a service upgrade/installed an EVSE (Grizzl-E Classic FTW). All of those choices have consequences, and all of them could be questioned. The best we can do is to make as informed a choice as possible. I rely on you for some of that.
June 16, 2025 at 10:09 PM
I think you're seeing the natural tendency of people to justify their own decisions, even if they're questionable. Someone may have chosen to get a new ICE car, or done an unnecessary service upgrade, or passed on rooftop solar. The right decision for me may not be the right decision for all.

Nothing illustrates the "lifted hatchback" concept like the Subaru Impreza/Crosstrek platform. The platform and overall shape of the car is the same...except for the height.

The Crosstrek outsells the Impreza in the US 6 to 1.

Even the most modest digging finds that this is complete nonsense.

Ignoring the casual dishwasher shade, the "redefinition" of showerheads was meant to eliminate a loophole where a 3-head shower hydra was no longer considered 3 showerheads, because it was on a single supply line.

Deeply dishonest.

That one road takes in nearly the same amount of toll revenue as the Illinois Tollway system.

If the government’s position is that being trafficked to El Salvador by Donald Trump and Stephen Miller amounts to a final and irreversible deprivation of all rights, then it seems to me every federal court has a duty to permanently enjoin the practice as soon as it possibly can.

He did it over the course of two terms, had a measured review process, and involved congress at every step. That was a controlled burn. This is a flamethrower.

When I got my EV, I lamented the fact that my buried conduit between my house and my garage only had room for a 30amp circuit. I contemplated digging a trench and upgrading to a bigger circuit, but a 24A charger completely meets my needs.
