No way that I've found to go from the reply to *what* it replied to though, AFAICT. And when I want to post something longer than a soundbite, the approved method seems to be to do it as a chain of replies to myself. But the UI is set up to make this difficult.

Even trying "show replies as threads" seems to be a no-op. Maybe you just have to have joined twitter in its earliest days, then followed it as it predictably removed any "training wheels" it had for learning to use it.

Necro posting here, because I only just *found* what appear to be replies to my posts. I'm certainly not here to play influencer. But how do I chat with people when I can't even figure out how to get from a post to its replies, or a reply to the post it was made to?

Thank you for that. If you were optimizing for the best ROI here, I wouldn't follow you. Why bother following an influence-maximizing algorithm, whether or not it's in human form?
