Thanks to the support of The Miami HEAT and in partnership with the Micky & Madeleine Arison Family Foundation and Carnival Corporation, Direct Relief is preparing a new 64-ton shipment of critical medical supplies for Jamaica following Hurricane Melissa.

In response to Hurricane Melissa, Direct Relief is sending 60 pallets of essential medical supplies—valued at $1M—to Jamaica’s Ministry of Health. Direct Relief is on the ground with partners to assess needs and support relief efforts.

September is Disaster Preparedness Month. Direct Relief works year-round to ensure essential medicines and supplies are ready so health providers can continue caring for people when hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other crises hit.

In response to the recent floods in Texas, Direct Relief delivered emergency medic packs to Texas Search and Rescue to assist with search and rescue missions. Designed for rapid response, each pack includes tools for infection control, trauma care, and more.
