TRACE-AtlantIC was a success! 🌊🚢
Using U-236 & I-129 tracers, we track Atlantification—how Atlantic waters reshape Arctic fjords.

CTD surveys in Kongsfjorden-Krossfjorden
Water samples collected
Key climate data secured

Thanks to CNR-ISP, DIFA UniBo & Arctic Field Grant 💙

The CYANACTALP project has completed its final #Arctic field campaign.
How does climate-driven greening of lake shores affect #cyanobacteria? Research by Camilla Capelli #SUPSI, in collaboration with #INRS, hosted at the Italian research station #DirigibileItalia thanks to #SwissPolarInstitute.

✅ Mission complete! The second 2025 Project Sedna expedition ends successfully.
Drones, hydrophones, tags, and the sharp eyes of our researchers collected key data on how climate change affects marine mammals.
🔬 Now, the analysis begins!

🇬🇧❄️ UNDER: science in Arctic catchments!
Just ended the summer campaign in Ny-Ålesund & Hornsund 🇳🇴. The project, conducted by IGG-CNR 🇮🇹 & IGF PAS 🇵🇱, explores groundwater–surface water links in a warming Arctic.
Next stop: autumn in Hornsund!

📍 North Pole. Second mission 2025 of Project SEDNA in progress.
🐋 We're studying how climate change affects the presence and foraging behaviour of the fin whale. Our researchers are currently in the field, collecting acoustic data and capturing video footage and aerial images using drones.

🌱 Just back from the Arctic!
CNR-IRET researchers completed the summer mission of Beyond Soil, as part of the PhD project by @carlottavolts.bsky.social on impacts of large herbivores in C & N cycles in High Arctic tundra, with new focus on soil microbial activity, in collaboration with NPI.
