FYI, that's a Colt .38, & "FTG"=fuck that guy
Oh I don't watch them either, of course. Always gonna prefer text or, ok, a podcast in the right hands.

Meet the Beatles is, of course, a cherished release to us Yanks, but we would've been better off with a re issue of Please Please Me, then With the Beatles.

And, um, the single releases synched with the British ones... this gets complicated! Brain hurts.

I met someone who'd attended Wharton when Two Scoops was trying to fake his way through a Master's.

Said acquaintance confirmed he was, indeed, an asshole there as well.

Well FWIW I hate watching videos.

The lads got our money after it had gone through...
well, let the Kinks tell the tale.

"The money-go-round goes around and around
and it comes out here
when they've all taken their share"

Granted the Fabs had a much better publishing deal than did the Kinks!

...thing is, my purchases were easily a decade-plus after their original release. It's not like they couldn't have pressed Revolver and Rubber Soul with 14 tracks apiece.

But, they hated me and my fellow suckers.
December 15, 2025 at 11:01 PM
Oh, we Americans were blameless for buying those terrible Capitol releases. I got suckered into (pains me to admit) the weak American versions of Revolver AND Rubber Soul.

(My sibs left me a copy of Beat the Meetles)

Bitter? Still? Yeah actually I am.

And yeah, "I'm a Loser" is brilliant stuff.

I'm not sure everyone knows that Joe Biden was OLD.
December 15, 2025 at 10:53 PM
To me it's more like missing a golden opportunity.
December 15, 2025 at 10:53 PM
I seriously don't understand this either. How can it be that not a single 1 of the Press Corpse is willing to go for the gold? How can they not see that they'd have an enormous percentage of Americans applauding, and whatever media outlet they decided to create?

It's not like it's hard to do today.
December 15, 2025 at 10:52 PM
"Rarely is the question asked", indeed.

(Yeah, I channeled Duhhbyuh. I don't feel good about it.)

Only those who aren't fond of standing in oil slicks at gas stations and breathing gasoline fumes.

(I'll grant that there are issues having access to chargers that might limit viability. Not everyone has a nice snug garage like mine.)

That Capitol album, and all of them prior to Pepper, were utter garbage. The company hated us Yanks, could've released the magnificent 14-track Parlophone albums, but instead chose to hack them to bits in order to increase the volume of disks.

The pressings sucked and they added reverb and, barf...
December 15, 2025 at 10:38 PM
The Capitol albums were absolute drek. I can't imagine any American being nostalgic for them, after having had a chance to hear the original Parlophone releases issued on CD in the late 80s

That said, I love Mr. Moonlight, even though I might be sleeping in a doghouse if I were to blast it at home

That range is fine for a lot of Americans. Average commute is only 42 miles, per this survey anyway.

I suspect that's correct. I know I seriously want to go BEV after my Volt's given up the ghost. That's gonna be awhile though, she's only got 68K on the clock.

"The researchers attributed most of the gap to overestimates of the “utility factor” [...] finding that 27% of driving was done in electric mode even though official estimates assumed 84%."

Who the hell only runs 27% on electric with a PHEV?

I call bullshit.
December 15, 2025 at 10:20 PM
Every time this guy opens his mouth I hear "that forehead of mine? That's what you want to aim for."

I'm sure I'm not the only one who hears that.
December 15, 2025 at 10:13 PM
We do as long as we have a SCOTUS that can't read the Second Amendment in its entirety.

Unless and until he's removed, you're only going to hear worse.

Put it this way--my state, which can't seem to decide if it's blue (we sent TWO Democrats to the Senate) or red (murdering bastard Kemp and his band of psychos run our state government?

We're all of Georgians us pretty much on board with the "at least we're not *Alabama*" sentiment.
