Hi Hedwig, thanks for your thoughts. Here is what I said below. I don’t see a problem here.The problem is that Holocaust memory has been used to justify the slaughter in Gaza and that’s why the public is losing faith in it and in the media coverage. Quite simple

After I lodged a complaint, the author was compelled to accuracy, if only by contriving an illogical sentence in order to retain his snark and appearance of dignity. But the paper has issued a correction. It knows one of their journalists was playing fast & loose with the truth.

The sadism is deeply buried & often surfaces-as you know. Consider the beloved Max & Moritz series. Jewish emigre scholars like Norbert Elias could see it for obvious reasons, esp with they ended up in the Anglosphere & experienced culture of restraint in all classes.
