Simply believing that you are correct without being able to explain how or why is dangerous. It is how cults like MAGA or the Mormons come to be. I have 18 replies calling me a "cunt" for daring to speak against a position you insist is true, yet only one that half-answered. Just cite the source.

While looking up that last pull quote to make sure it was accurate, I found this explanation of how "IQ" works--which is disgracefully wrong in its entirety. In #Latin, "blatta" means "shun the light". It is the source of the English word "blatant" (loud unabashed vulgarity from the shadows), which is why you say it like "blait tant" (because it was until 1871).

It is unrelated to "blow", "bleat", and "bellow", which were originally all the same word.

(2/2) Now examine the "H" alone. It's "sugar => reward => extra dopamine". It's like any other addiction. Take cocaine and you replace normal brain chemical production. Remove cocaine you have withdrawal while the brain reactivates. The "H" is sugar withdrawal.

(1/2) I care not for anecdotes. I only care about chemistry. Science is proof. If you remove the "H", ADD is simple: low-dopamine levels caused by either 1) broken dopamine production or 2) over-consumption of dopamine. Thus... Ritalin/Adderall => increased dopamine => normalcy.

Why? In what "tone-" were you telling the joke? The problem isn't with the pronunciation; it's with the missing hyphen. It's "anti-fa", which is short for "anti-fascist". Using the hyphen makes your joke, which does contain a hyphen, funnier.

For those who don't know Chinese, "法" is "law".

Most doctors in the 1980s refused to accept "hyperactivity" as a symptom of ADD. All kids get hyper--especially when you feed them mountains of sugar via birthday cake. ADD kids in non-sugar countries don't exhibit that symptom. So out of spite, the Ritalin-makers inserted it into the name.
