I've certainly become a lot less of a stickler for CG 'needing' to be realistic or being inherently worse than pratical, and I've seen at least one John Ford movie, so I'm cautiously optimistic

A big part of why the prequels are hated imo is because they go out of their way to embrace artifice as an aesthetic style (like with the melodramatic acting and using green screens for a lot of the backdrops), which a lot of people take as an implicit failure rather than a goal in and of itself
