Everyone I know knows that I don’t text. I have a flip phone for calling out in case of emergency (i.e., an alarm clock). No “smartphone”; no hassle. Peace.

I’m sure that they must be relieved to know that they can walk along and have a friendly chat with a stranger without fear of masked, armed thugs throwing them to the ground and kidnapping them for no good reason.

“Mind the pillar box!” I still say this, though there are no pillar boxes in Canada that I’m aware of. My parents and I loved “Keeping Up Appearances”. RIP, indeed.

I prefer “Dame Sarah Mullaly appointed as Archbishop of Canterbury.”

I honestly thought that the article was about the u.s. until I got to the end of the headline. It’s a terrible situation in any case. Why aren’t we intervening to stop the chaos in Sudan, Palestine, Ukraine, the u.s., and other war-torn countries? Start by stopping arms sales to each region.

If we had in-person voting, as we should, this wouldn’t be a problem. I refuse to vote by mail.

I find it ironic that united statesians elected a billionaire to stick it to the billionaire class. You can’t make this stuff up. Your country is teetering on the edge of destruction by an out-of-control felon in the white house and an ineffective and apathetic congress. Do better.

At the moment, he’s too busy invading his own country.

Actually, I don’t think that’s fair in every instance. Some ppl work very hard to become wealthy while still maintaining their humanity. They appear to be few and far between, and in the moment I can’t think of an example, but I’m sure they’re out there. We need to stop labelling ppl, full stop.

I had no idea. From the air, most of Europe seems to have no wilderness left - just neatly arranged rectangles of trees separating crops. Nothing wild left standing. After several trips over the area a while back, it was a joy to fly over Norway & see the unspoiled forest. It was like coming home.

Instead of asking why I won’t vote for that candidate and possibly addressing the issue, she simply said “ok, have a nice day”. See, that’s what’s wrong with politics these days - they don’t care about your concerns; they just want your vote. #MissedOpportunity

So, I just had a call from a provincial candidate’s office, asking if I’ll be voting in the upcoming election and if they can count on my vote. I confirmed that I will be voting, but not for that candidate.

I wanted to buy something recently, but could only find it on Amazon. The product is made in Australia, so I contacted the company and they arranged to ship it to me directly, bypassing Amazon. I even saved a few dollars in the process. Every bit helps.

I’ve been saying that about the (Canadian) telecomms for years, but ppl don’t seem able to do without their precious phones or tv services for even one day. As consumers, we have the power, but oh so rarely use it.

Yeah, there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just weird.

I’m surprised that they call him Sable… In my mind, there was only one Sable:

Did they actually do that? That’s disgusting!

I still find it strange to see Mt. Pearl street signs on Walton’s Mountain and Topsail, which used to be in St. John’s. Only in NL would a capital city be carved up and given to a neighbouring suburb/(then) town.

He has a lot of (ugly) anger (maybe he’s hormonal🤷🏻‍♀️). News flash for him (whoever he is): I had never heard of Kirk until the night he was shot. Many people never heard of him. I didn’t know of Ms. Hortman either. Both deaths were equally tragic and unnecessary.
