YTness is a powerful drug and a lot of cis-YT gay man aren’t the larger target of their rhetoric - it’s Trans folks, racialized folks, immigrants, Muslims and poor folks - so they can be “debate it” and “they’re just words” because they aren’t the target/recipient of the violence.

I’m a cis ally so I’ve kept to only following the comments and not adding my voice but it’s hella sus. It’s hard to tell if a bad actor or actors took it over, if it’s one person presenting as a collective who’s in a spiral, or is truly a collective of Trans folks.
