@weddingpresent.bsky.social Terrific show at the Garage last night. As much as I miss Melanie and Charles, the new drummer and bassist are excellent. Rachel might be the best guitarist I've seen in the band. Here's to another 40 years!
Book 25 of the year: Fundamentally by Nussibah Younis. A very sharp witted novel that tackles radicalisation, racism, friendship and faith along with the internal politics and bureaucracy of huge organisations. At times it's hard to believe this is a work of fiction. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
🎶O'er grassy dale, and lowland scene Come see, come hear, the English Scheme. The lower-class, want brass, bad chests, scrounge fags. The clever ones tend to emigrate Like your psychotic big brother, who left home For jobs in Holland, Munich, Rome🎶 #fallfriday youtu.be/skSfmmnbw5k?...

Book 24 of the year: Everything Nothing Someone by Alice Carriere. A harrowing but brave narration of childhood neglect, drug abuse and mental illness, spurred on by pill prescribing professionals. It's a grim read at times but ends on a hopeful note.
Overrun by people from different cultures and religions..... like when the first pilgrims landed in what became the US? But they were white, so it was OK that they stole the land.

I fell asleep amongst the boulders strewn between Glyderfach and Glydefawr and I saw in a dream, your charmless associates in a stretch limousine. They were plunging headlong into a ravine.
