We should host a wildcat G20 in SA again next year so nobody has to go to the US.

"Valve have literally no way of knowing" when the developers directly state what they've changed and why, makes it more than just implied. At least in my reading.

I disagree. Valve asked for, and got, a rushed early version for review purposes when that's not their standard process at all. There is still no confirmation that the content that was changed caused the issue (it can't have led to the version request). Non-sexual nudity can exist.

I don't see why that means the devs should own a nebulous and undefined mistake when Valve's choices are the issue here.
November 27, 2025 at 12:34 PM
Of course, this is all fixable if Valve outline exactly which content they have banned the game over. Then the devs can easily show that as changed, should they want to.

Especially given the content assumed to be the issue *has* changed, or are you further implying that the devs are lying?

Other games on the platform set expectations for what is acceptable or not, especially when the platform's guidelines are vague.

Even assuming that performing a full review is somehow "too much" for Valve, why can't they use age ratings and other platform's acceptance?

This is why I'm sticking with the VS 2019 that I got my setup really dialed in on. I'm dreading the day there's a breaking change in my workflow and I have to figure out which AI bullshit to nuke and templates to go delete.

As someone with a game that can't be sold on Steam, I believe that it's primarily driven by legal risk aversion at the loss of "mere conduit" defense. Once Valve has clearly interacted with a game in any way and someone goes on to sue, Valve themselves become liable. Least-effort ass-covering.

This specific game is just so incredibly unhelpfully patronizing on top of forcing you to wait constantly while it loads away from the menu made the wrong choice in with no capability to go back from. It's *great*.
