There's no ethical consumption in capitalism but musk products are definitely bottom of the barrel. You don't have to give it back to the manufacturer but you could always sell it to another manufacturer. Ford will give you a $1500 rebate if you show you own a tesla supposedly.

There's some minor differences but not enough to say that they're totally different. They're both beholden to the same interests: capitalists. So it would be very inaccurate to say they're not the same at all since they are both pro capitalism and all of the values that come with that.
