The fact is: Thomas Chatterbox Whatever is as American as MAGA and directs his brainfarts at an American audience, romanticising Le Freeeeench in the way only Americans can, insufferably. We must endure him as we must endure TNC's Out Of Africa moment cuz Europe is spineless.

Because: In my field, DEI didn't lead to more books by Black and Brown people in Europe, only a huge influx of localised/provincial works by Black Americans. Black people continue to be marginalized in Europe. I'm still pissed off by the excessive money spent on Amanda Gorman's auction in the EU.

Someone somewhere tweeted that Trump — however horrible — has recognised the writing on the wall and is accelerating the fact of a multipolar world order where Europe and the US drift apart. If it results in diminished American cultural dominance elsewhere (like books…), I welcome it.
