Because: In my field, DEI didn't lead to more books by Black and Brown people in Europe, only a huge influx of localised/provincial works by Black Americans. Black people continue to be marginalized in Europe. I'm still pissed off by the excessive money spent on Amanda Gorman's auction in the EU.

Someone somewhere tweeted that Trump — however horrible — has recognised the writing on the wall and is accelerating the fact of a multipolar world order where Europe and the US drift apart. If it results in diminished American cultural dominance elsewhere (like books…), I welcome it.
