The West Side deserves light rail.
Let’s keep fighting for it. 🌹

Calls to “reevaluate” are not neutral. They are delays — and delays have always pushed the West Side to the back of the line. 📣 Fill out the survey before Jan. 27 www.valleymetro.org/project/capi...

Let us honor him not with silence or softness, but with courage. Let us do the hard work. Let us fight together for the freedom and dignity of all our communities. ✊🏽🌹

Remembering Dr. King honestly means refusing the dilution. It means sitting with the discomfort of how much of his critique still indicts the present.

Today, our communities are once again forced to contend with a fascist government. With #ICE terrorizing our neighborhoods. With ongoing police and state violence that targets the most vulnerable.

In his later years, Dr. #MLK took a clear position against the Vietnam War and against American imperialism. Against state violence abroad and here at home.

To honor Dr. #MLK only with platitudes about peace while ignoring his fierce opposition to empire, war, and profit is to sand down his legacy into something harmless and false.

King named the Vietnam War as a spiritual failure and called the United States “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today.” He did not ask to be liked. He asked us to tell the truth, even when it costs us.

“Rev. Dr. King was not a mascot for comfort or a quote machine for civility. He was a radical moral voice who warned that racism, poverty, and militarism were bound together…”

Rest in power, Renee Good.
May this evil empire fall.

Silence is not neutrality.
Silence is participation.

As long as we allow ICE and this administration to terrorize one group of our neighbors, we create the conditions to terrorize us all.
January 9, 2026 at 12:36 AM
State-sanctioned violence is happening now.
In our cities.
In our streets.

My #CityofPhoenix #District7 office stands in solidarity with Minneapolis and with the legal observers, organizers, and community members who put their bodies on the line to protect people’s rights every day.
January 9, 2026 at 12:36 AM
My heart is broken for the families torn apart and for the legal observer murdered by ICE in Minneapolis.

Item 68, if passed, would authorizes the #CityOfPhoenix to enter into short-term licenses/agreements with #Trump's gov't. Item 68 would allow federal agencies to use city-owned property to:
• Stage operations
• Use city land or facilities temporarily
• Access sites not otherwise open to federal use
