At a certain point, her ignorance of the cultural significance of taking parts from Black American actresses who are authentic is lazy and callous. She won't learn until she falls flat like Zoe Saldana did for playing Nina Simone.

Her lack of authenticity and desire to understand our plight is why she is not seen as one of us. Yt Hollywood loves her because she her accent makes her palpable and she doesn't have the inherent trauma of growing up in America, but I'm not rocking with it.

This is why I don't rush to see Cynthia's projects. I saw her try to catch the LEAD on a gospel song once and mess it up because she had never heard the song before and only cared to throw her vocals on it to seem like she knew.

My dad left my mom for her mom in 2007 and then got married in 2013 in Vegas and this year on their 11th anniversary my grandma/stepmother was bragging about how lucky she is to have scored such a good "hubby" like him, hence the nasty text message I sent them.
