I'm trying to get nerdier but not trying to ostracize all the less nerdy people, and possibly failing.

TCG, DnD, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Movie enthusiast.

Please talk to me about anything you are passionate about and why I should give it a try. 😁
I have, as soon as I learned that WoT was cancelled after the 3rd season while I watching season 1 and seeing how good it was.

I do think that this is to a point true for a percentage of the viewership, not to be generalized to all men but definitely not an inaccurate statement.

It's a sad reality of our present society that a significant portion or men are still masochistic pricks.

I should have specified that I meant the live action series, specifically. I don't doubt that WoT is one of the most popular book series', it deserves to be! As someone who is only getting into it now, this world building is amazing and the character arcs are as well.

I guess people just don't enjoy elaborate lore drops as much as I do? God I love me a good lore drop and it feels like the WoT lore just gets deeper every episode. 😬

And if I, a nobody who only really has knowledge about a lot of TCGs and Table Top games, can think of ideas to do it, the more experienced people at WOTC who do this for a livin should also be able to. The problem is they don't feel a need to solve this!

MTG is great, but It could be better! 9/9

And the reason this happens is because lands are in the main deck. There must be a way to, in competitive MTG, separate the lands from the maindeck while maintaining the integrity of the game. After giving it a non-zero amount of thought, I already have I believe plausible ideas on the matter. 8/x

But the fact that there is a relevant chunk of games which are won and lost off of mana flood or screw.

I'm not Frank Karsten, I don't know the math and will not pretend to, but I have multiple friends who have lost pro-tour invites to drawing too many lands or too few, and it's the WORST. 7/x

And in EDH, the causual multi-player version of MTG, there really isn't that much of a problem. Its the main reason MTG is the biggest TCG today.

In comp MTG, however, the fact that there is a problem. Not going into lack of comp support and all that, thats another conversation all together. 6/x

The nuanced decision making chains in RB remind you of a competitive game of MTG. The big difference is, you have a separate resource deck!

Now, to my main point. MTGs archaic resource system. MTG was made over 30 years ago, and the fact its the biggest TCG is a testament to how good it is 5/X

Going back to flooding/screwing.

This doesn't exist in Riftbound. It's pretty great. Look into the game if you don't know why it doesn't, but the short of it is, your resource deck is separate.

Now, RB isn't the first game to do this, OPTCG does the same thing, but RB - PLAYS LIKE MTG. 4/x

I have played multiple card games though, both resourceless (Pokemon, Yugi-oh, Digimon), Alternate resource based (FaB, WOW TcG, Lorcana~), and resource based (MtG, OPTCG, now Riftbound).

And through all of that, I do believe MTG is the most beautiful card game, but it does have it's flaws. 3/X
