What's going on now can be laid at the feet of McTurtle. From his obstruction of President Obama, to his theft of multiple Supreme Court seats to his refusal to vote to convict trump in either of his impeachment trials. None of this would be possible without his approvals going back to 2008.

I don't consider he 2-3 minutes I've spent on this thread as spending much energy and I'm not defending an entire party. Just pointing out where I think your initial argument that Obama somehow blew an opportunity to codify Roe is flawed. OK. Four and a half minutes.

Maybe, maybe not. There were two red state Dems who refused to vote in favor of the ACA unless concessions to weaken abortion rights were added to the legislation. They were the last holdouts and NEVER would have voted to codify Roe.

We have a whole-ass government agency that is designed to deal with this specific problem and it was working. Repugs worked from the beginning to dismantle it and close it down. They finally succeeded allowing DOGE to defund it. Fuck trump and all repugs who are acting like this is a new idea.
