I worry that eventually LLMs will stop being able to talk about Donald Trump or anything political. For example I asked the question "Is Donald Trump a fascist?" to Claude 3.5 (answers hesitantly), GPT-4o (answers normally), and Gemini 2.0 (straight up refuses to answer).

I'm going to guess that in 2024 these peaks are slightly further apart than they were in 2014. "The way to win is through the center" might have been in true in Bill Clinton's time, increasingly it is not true now

Actually maybe not? Scholars argue that negative rights might be as hard or harder to enforce than positive rights.
December 11, 2024 at 5:21 PM
A similar distinction is "freedom" vs "freedom from", although they're not identical. So are negative rights easier to fulfil?
December 11, 2024 at 5:21 PM
First, what is a positive right? Generally we think someone with a positive right is entitled to some good or service.
