Music used to be rare - in the late 60’s I used to go out with my mate on his scooter every Saturday, driving around the Cheshire countryside to visit whichever of the villages had a ‘disco’ in their village hall that weekend. One week the disco was a bit boring (cont in comments)

Some while back I started to get interested in the collision between dance music and jazz. I decided to bring it together under the title Deep House Jazz. I’m just curating Vol 8. I don’t make money from this but I suspect some people here might dig the collection. So here goes. Enjoy Howard 😊

Dance music gave me a second adolescence 😊 My first was spent expanding my musical horizons with Zappa, Grateful Dead and Soft Machine. As soon as I heard the music at a rave club I realised this was the creation of new sounds and I dove into it with the same enthusiasm as I had 20 years earlier.

When the tourists leave Ibiza reveals its true beauty again - or rather when I’m not flying around playing music 7 days a week I get chance to notice its beauty again 😊
