I have used it to teach so many different lessons, and it is stellar for all of them! My middle schoolers love it too.

Got to read “Watercress” to students this week to discuss plot v theme. @andreaywang.bsky.social writes a beautiful book to read out loud - the alliteration feels beautiful. @authorjasonchin.bsky.social created beautiful illustrations that demand the reader’s attention. (1/2)

I am behind on books! Taught “Call Me Roberto!” this week. Illustration and story are top-notch. The author, Nathalie Alonso, writes for mlb.com so we were able to read a post of hers with videos that cover evnts in the book! Love a chance for multimedia in storytime www.mlb.com/news/roberto...

Now the state is telling every school in every district that they must be removed.

These books were removed without the committee even having to read the whole book.

Read this a few years ago, taught with it today. Christie is one of my favorite illustrators. Rockliff does a great job of intertwining history and food, which kept my exceptional Ed students’ attention. We loved learning about Georgia Gilmore and her support of the Montgomery Bus Boycott!

#ALAyma @geneluenyang.bsky.social and Leuyen Pham’s “Lunar New Year Love Story” is adorable and made me squee even though I am not a romance girl usually. Also, Val’s grandma is my new favorite person.
