Palmer I have a buddy who wants to do the same old thing every time I visit him in Westport: Go to the Black Duck to drink Bud Light and reminisce about the glory days when we were lifeguards together. Nothing against the duck. It’s a great place. But in addition to being a writer and editor, I’m also a bartender from the city and a bourbon guy, so I like to seek out trendy new places where I can check out a new cocktail, and having spent a good portion of the last decade in Boston, I’ve grown used to paying a couple extra bucks for a good drink.
