Republicans voted for the funding already for ICE in last year’s reconciliation bill. That required a simple majority only.

I don’t agree with your definitions. Just because the 6 might occasionally not push on a particular issue doesn’t mean they don’t have a nihilistic world view. In other words, I think this is a case of exceptions prove the rule.

To put a finer point on it, I think it’s perfectly reasonable to be nihilistic about this Court, even though it’s likely true that there is currently a certain level of hypocrisy even these 6 Republicans won’t cross.

Yep. Anyway, I really think it’s unlikely Newsom will get the nomination for a number of reasons (too much personal baggage, not enough support from Black voters, etc.). But even if he does, I bet he “clarifies” his views on Trans rights enough for most LGBTQ+ voters to accept him.

To be fair, I don’t think that’s true. LGBTQ+ voters are always hugely supportive of Ds. And I think most can simultaneously be critical of Newsom’s comments (which most definitely were bad) and at the same time support Ds in Congress for achieving this.

I don’t know this person, but for others, Jay a few days ago implied Weiss hadn’t even started ruining 60 minutes, despite the fact that the attempt to kill this story had already happened. Don’t know why Jay’s trying to bend over backwards for Weiss as much as he is, it’s unlike him, and it’s sad.

I honestly don’t understand how anyone can read that quote and come away with any other conclusion other than bad faith by Weiss. She is clearly lying to cover up the fact that she believes in Trump’s bigotry and his Nazi-like actions.

I’d point out we know that Weiss is lying here. Because, if you watched the original segment available online, they specifically stated they had asked for comment from the Trump regime already.
