I'm at ala, a Mediterranean spot in DuPont Circle in DC. The bar manager recognized me as a journalist & paid my entire tab. I never want them to do that because I can write it off on work days but that was nice. Woman is from Turkey, actually. What a dope day so far. I'm off to a whiskey tasting.
