This was too good to not share, “A sickening moral slum of an administration. . . . Trump and his acolytes are worse than incompetent.” George Will. Well stated. And Mark Kelly, “these are not serious people.”

In doubling down on tough on crime tactics, the Mayor is going in the wrong direction. As Dr. Davis from Reimagining Policing says, “if we don’t prioritize investment in communities, prevention and healing” we simply will suffer from greater neighborhood instability and public safety challenges.

Much ado about the latest CMAS results and how student performance is improving. Let’s not miss this - CMAS results showed 72 percent of white students at or above grade level on literacy with only 26 percent of Black students and 24 percent of Hispanics. This is unacceptable.

UN agency for Palestinians says ‘entire humanitarian system is collapsing’ as ceasefire negotiations fall apart. Many are dying of hunger - something that for many here is unimaginable, certainly for me. Where’s the mainstream coverage, the outrage?

Does anyone in the mainstream media know how to count? The media repeatedly said (and is saying) the Rs could only lose 3 votes but with a 220-212, it’s really 4/5 votes. There remain 3 vacant D seats. Good grief.

Stark comments about the big bill: “it loots our country for some of the least deserving people you could imagine.” -Whitehouse. “I have never seen a bill this bad, this irresponsible, regressive and downright cruel.” -King. Will any of these words land and make a difference? Let’s hope they do.

Great reporting by @samtabachnik.bsky.social on the dangers posed to our youth in Dept of Youth Services. Staff on youth assaults are up and likely undercounted. Staff is bringing in drugs. Yet, some legislators think it’s a good idea to bring more youth into those facilities. That’s disgraceful.

Musk claims DOGE is saving taxpayers billions, but the data is unclear - NPR

Data “unclear”? There is NO data. Zero. “Not much transparency”? Really?? There is NO transparency. None whatsoever. Call it like it is!

Biden to commute sentences of 37 out of 40 people on federal death row - POLITICO

Thank you POTUS. I hoped for a total sweep but this is what progress looks like. I look to the day when we look back at our death penalty days and ask with shock, “what were we thinking!”

A lot of noise about folks that didn’t vote. Big deal of course but we can’t pretend without data that they would have vote for Harris.
