A good day at @slimbridge-wild.bsky.social yesterday. Highlights included a smart Firecrest near Martin Smith hide, a Green-winged Teal from North America, plenty of Bewick’s Swans and a juvenile Peregrine spooking all the ducks and waders.

This graph for my nearest city is striking. It shows #climatechange is real and as we rush into another heatwave how near we are to the 1.5C threshold.
Reducing emissions must be a priority for politicians as it is for the majority of the public

Ship collisions and noise are pushing whales to the brink–but there’s a simple solution. Slowing down ships could save thousands of whales and other marine life. Urge your leaders to commit to real ocean protection at the upcoming global summit! action.wemove.eu/sign/2024-6-...

🌍 Steve Reed wanted the Climate & Nature Bill to proceed. Ed Miliband promised to work on the #CANBill's objectives. Mary Creagh pledged to deliver “binding nature commitments”.

🚨 Labour Ministers are speaking out.

⏳ What’s the delay for new, joined-up, science-led climate and nature legislation?

Enjoyed a good day in the Forest of Dean - distant views of a Goshawk from New Fancy View; fancy Mandarins at Cannop Pools and at least seven Hawfinches under the Yew trees in Parkend. #Glosbirds #birding

🏞️The #CANBill remains as crucial as ever.

But time is ticking for the government to strengthen and improve UK climate and nature legislation⏳

We need to know how - and when - they plan to take forward the fight for real change👇
🌍 Ed Miliband—after the Climate and Nature Bill debate on 24 January, you promised to work towards real change for climate and nature.

📅 Will you commit to a meeting with Zero Hour and take forward the spirit of the #CANBill via future legislation?

⏳ We’re counting on you.
