It has been awhile, but the "Deus ex" is what bothered me. The other parts of the book I still dig though and sometimes go back and read those parts again.

I thought the movie was a really good religious introspection movie while being kind of a mediocre detective movie. My biggest problem is that the murder seemed overly complicated for what those folks could realistically pull off.

Ohh, I need to pick this up. Plus Star Trek Prodigy which was so much better than it had any right to be. Sad it never got more seasons.

I screwed up my Prime 1 scans by losing to a boss and forgetting to scan it on the restart.

Yeah, that is why ideal always to ask, but already saw that wasn't an option. That's also why I suggested just sharing something older that was personally enjoyed. Most likely thing someone to not know about, but also runs the bigger risk of something they might not enjoy.

I wasn't really thinking of it as getting them a blu-ray or volume, vs. getting them like a shirt or something. If they are heavily into anime, they already probably familiar with all the popular stuff. If you are introducing, I agree probably safer to avoid DanDaDan or Chainsaw Man.

Same for me at sucking at tag fighters. I'm not even great with typical fighters, with Smash only one I have played seriously. But I'm such a Marvel head I always play and suck at MvC, and in the future, Tokuon.

The big popular franchises right now are Jujutsu Kaisen, Solo Leveling, Chainsaw Man, DanDaDan, MyHeroAcademia, Spy x Family, Frieren, Demon Slayer. But there can be so many different types of weeb, so those all might be wrong. Could also try giving some older anime Blu-ray that you enjoyed.

Amiibos locking stuff was always problematic. Before they were cheap but sold out so fast. Now they are everywhere and cost more than some games. Smash probably had the best use of them, and even that didn't really require amiibos. Still great physical product though.

I think that any game that has the banner for Nintendo Switch Enhanced edition is both Switch 1 and Switch 2 compatible. I think it is fine having a Switch 1 only version just cause they sell it for cheaper. Though ideal is only sell Switch 1/2 version at the same price.

I wonder if the mouse control gimmick was part of the reason. But so weird given that motion controls part of 3 and the trilogy.

I think it sounds like what you would expect from a game that restarted development. The tried and true is still amazing but the new stuff can be hit or miss. And that is good enough for me as a Metroid stan.

Studios sometimes have specialties, so my guess is Prime 4 just out of their wheelhouse. It is like when Microsoft forced Arkane to do live service shit. Or it could just be from them being more of support studio and not ready for a big production. Who knows.
