Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025 Day 3. Le sigh… all good things must end. LCD Soundsystem, Dehd, Turnstile, and Black Country New Road all killed it, plus Chappell! It was great to see band members and critics in the audience, geeking out to the same stuff I was watching. Hasta la vista, Barcelona!

Big Ears Festival 2025. On Day Four, my final day, the shows were all over the map, from Mabe Fratti’s heavy cello to múm’s wispy electronics. Other highlights: Amaro Freitas, Kahil El’Zabar, and Magic Tuber Stringband. Great festival this year!

Fievel Is Glaque and Ruth Garbus @ Music Hall of Williamsburg last night. Most importantly, I learned how to pronounce the band’s name! Light sounds, deep melodies, short songs jammed with ideas, endlessly engrossing. Bonus: opening act Ruth Garbus was fantastic! Interested to hear more.
