Currently many innovative ways to play GB (modded original hardware, FPGA and software emulation). However, none fully hit the mark from a DMG perspective: size and feel, buttons, cartridge compatible and an accurate ‘green screen’, all available at an affordable price. An ‘FPDMG’ would be great

Game Boy’s first appearance in the UK’s Argos catalogue was Spring/Summer 1991. It was described as: “Portable, hand held video game. Game Boy is completely self-contained and features patented Nintendo controls…”. It cost £69.95.

Kirby made his Nintendo debut on the Game Boy in 92 with Kirby’s Dream Land. He would return to the system in Pinball Land (93), Dream Land 2 (95), Block Ball (95/96), and Star Stacker (97).

Released in 94, the Super Game Boy in the PAL region ran games c.1.5% faster than on the handheld, with the ‘game screen’ being horizontally stretched from 10:9 to 14:9.
