Can’t speak to the legal aspects, but my understanding (which couldn’t be inaccurate but I try not to be) is that those reports aren’t public, so there’s not an element that they’re something that consumers should be aware of inherently. But I’m still piecing things together here too?

Because it’s still an unsafe temperature to serve anything. And there having been something like 700+ reports of injuries including settlements of hundreds of thousands of dollars over a 10 year period leading up to this incident. That’s not the consumer’s responsibility, that’s on the corporation.

Absolutely! It’s one of those things that I try to help share some context on because I think most people are in a similar boat to where you were in not hearing the full story- happy to provide a learning opportunity where I can!

Yeah, 180-190 degrees. She was hospitalized for 8 days with third-degree burns, and 2 years of medical treatments.

FYI, the McDonald’s “hot coffee” lawsuit was a genuine consumer safety problem that had been reported multiple times, and the restaurant failed to do anything about it. Making it seem frivolous was a spin tactic to try to save face instead of actually doing the right thing.

I mean, who really wants to work on Christmas music in May, anyhow? It would have been fun to have had some snow by now, but at least it’s been below 40 more than once in the past couple weeks…

And I’m more than a little worried that it won’t be long before they go after the medication that I need to function on a daily basis. With insurance it’s $25/mo but without is at least $250, and I’m well aware how cheap that is vs a whole bunch of folks worse off than me.

“most” is doing some heavy lifting here. There’s zero excuse for this level of government to be using random printers at a hotel if there’s anything even remotely close to sensitive information involved.

Also, it’s possible to come up with a previous job title for most people that makes them seem completely unqualified for anything you want. I mean, I’m technically a former pallet-assembly assistant, as well as former lawn-care assistant. (Definitely getting some “4 Seasons Landscaping” vibes now 😆)

I fondly remember trying to get to the Indianapolis airport fedex with last second boxes from work in like 2006. Wouldn’t have been anywhere near as fun if this weren’t my car at the time…
