When I left in ‘77 to attend Forest Tech School at NAIT, my dad was on a ~$500/m disability; I graduated in ‘79&moved to BC with a BCFS job; went back to UofA 15 yrs later for a BSc in Forestry;&stayed with BCFS for 30 yrs; I saw so much of BC&met so many wonderful people-for that I am most grateful

Open wells on old homesteads were the norm
I left my parent’s home in 1977 - that well was still how they got their water supply until early 1980’s - astonishing isn’t it
‘Our footprint’ on the earth was tiny
Life was simple but good & surprisingly - something I had to get away from - fuck eh?!🤣

On the hottest summer days, hauling up a pail of that water - ah … it was so cold & fresh …

That & the organically grown & tasty vegetables -everything tasted good

What I appreciate more so now than I did in the ‘80’s perhaps are the videos that were made
This one is not as innovative or an expression of talent - when I watch some of them now, I think how wonderful the storyline is depicted & the choreography is brilliant
